Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
Story Time Maker is made by AJW Enterprises LLC ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you use the app at storytimemaker.app or through a mobile app store. By using Story Time Maker you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What the service does
Story Time Maker uses artificial intelligence to generate original illustrated children's stories from the settings and story ideas you provide, and can read them aloud using your device's speech features. Stories and illustrations are generated fresh each time; the same settings will not produce the same story twice.
Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a subscription. The stories are made for children, but the account holder is an adult who is responsible for supervising a child's use of the app and for choosing age-appropriate settings.
Your account
- Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account.
- Provide an email address you can access — it's how you recover your account and how we contact you about your subscription.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen. Deleting your account cancels access to paid features and removes your account record from our systems.
Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance at the price and billing period shown when you subscribe. Monthly plans renew every month; yearly plans renew every year.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Each renewal charges the payment method on file at the then-current price for your plan.
- Add-ons — such as Story profile — are separate subscriptions with their own price and billing period. An add-on is not included in any plan, and buying a plan does not include it. Cancelling a plan does not cancel an add-on, and cancelling an add-on does not cancel a plan. Access to an add-on's features lasts while that add-on subscription is active.
- One-time purchases — unlocking a single story, or adding an epilogue — are charged once, are not subscriptions, and do not renew. They apply to the story you bought them for.
- Payments on the web are processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card details.
- Subscriptions purchased inside an iOS or Android app are billed by Apple or Google under their terms, and must be managed and cancelled through that platform's subscription settings rather than here.
- We may change prices. If we do, we'll give notice before the change affects an existing subscription, and you're free to cancel before it takes effect.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time from Account → Plans & pricing → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals. Your paid features stay available through the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and the app shows you that end date.
Add-ons are cancelled the same way and behave the same: the features they unlock remain available until the end of the period already paid for, and stop at renewal. Anything you saved — such as characters or boundaries in a Story profile — is kept on your account and becomes available again if you resubscribe, unless you delete your account.
Usage limits
Each plan includes a monthly page allowance, shown on the pricing page. A page is one page of a story. When an allowance is used up, generation pauses until the allowance resets at the start of your next billing period, or until you upgrade. We also apply fair use limits to protect the service from automated abuse; these are set well above ordinary household use.
Refunds
Short version: if something went wrong — you were charged unexpectedly, the service didn't work, or you subscribed by mistake — email us and we'll sort it out. We'd rather refund you than have you feel cheated.
- Subscription and add-on fees are generally non-refundable for the period already used, because the service is delivered immediately.
- We will refund a charge, in full or in part at our discretion, where you were billed in error, were charged after cancelling, could not use the service because of a fault on our side, or contact us within 14 days of a renewal you didn't intend.
- To request a refund, email support@storytimemaker.app from your account's email address, with the approximate date of the charge. We aim to respond within 3 business days.
- Purchases made through Apple or Google are refunded by those companies under their own policies; we can't issue refunds for them, though we're happy to help you with the request.
- Nothing here limits rights you may have under consumer law in your country.
Acceptable use
Please don't use Story Time Maker to attempt to generate sexual content involving minors, content that sexualises or endangers children, hateful or harassing content, content promoting violence or self-harm, or anything unlawful. Don't try to bypass the app's safety systems, resell or redistribute the service, scrape it, overload it, or use it to build a competing product. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.
Content and originality
- Your stories are yours to enjoy. You may read, print, and share the stories you create for personal and family use, and you may use them commercially to the extent the law allows.
- We instruct our systems to produce original characters and settings, and we automatically check generated content to keep out references to trademarked characters, brands, and real people. Because these systems are automated, we can't guarantee that output never resembles existing work.
- Under current US Copyright Office guidance, purely AI-generated images and text generally aren't eligible for copyright protection. That means neither you nor we can claim exclusive copyright in them.
- If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us and we'll respond promptly.
AI-generated content — what to expect
Stories are generated by AI and are not reviewed by a person before you see them. Despite our safety systems, output may occasionally be unexpected, inaccurate, or not match the tone you selected. You're in control: you choose the age band and settings, and you can stop a story at any time. Please preview stories if your child is sensitive to particular themes.
Service availability
We aim to keep the service running but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Generation depends on third-party AI providers and can be delayed or briefly unavailable. Reasonable usage limits apply to protect the service; if you hit one, the app tells you.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
